Patrick Holderfield


Born in Newburgh, New York, Patrick Holderfield lives and works in Seattle, Washington. He graduated with honors from the State University College at Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York, with a BFA Painting.

Since then Holderfield has gone on to earn many awards and honors here in Seattle, among them the 2005 Artist Trust GAP Grant, the 2004 Artist Trust Fellowship, 2000 Neddy Artist Fellowship Nominee with the Behnke Foundation, the 1999 Juror's Award from the Center on Contemporary Art in the 1999 Northwest Annual at CoCA and the 1998 Juror's Award in the Pacific Northwest Annual at the Bellevue Art Museum.

His numerous solo exhibitions include Doubt Has a Place: The Raft in 2004 and Somatic Relations in 2001, both at Seattle's James Harris Gallery; Dehiscence at the Big Orbit Gallery in Buffalo, New York; Aesop After Sargent After Velazquez, a Seattle Art Museum Rental/Sales Gallery window installation; Harvest Balls: an experiment at the Center on Contemporary Art in Seattle; Project Space at the James Harris Gallery; Exodus: a fable, a window installation at 911 Media Arts Center in Seattle; and Dehiscence at Project 416 in Seattle.
