"I am impressed with the quality of Tom's instruction, the exchange of ideas with other students and the disciplined schedule."
— Jeffrey O'Boyle, Seattle
Thomas Loepp fits the mold of the vigorous, obsessive painter for whom art is his whole world. He is much in demand as a portrait painter, and continues to paint from the figure and the landscape as his own personal oeuvre. His work is extremely appealing for its painterly, humanistic quality.
His approach to painting is disciplined and direct. He teaches painting with a very fundamental and logical approach that benefits painters at all levels.
Loepp's career as a successful portrait painter includes commissioned portraits of Chief Justice Rehnquist, CEOs of many corporations, and scads of unruly children, all of whom posed for their portraits.
His paintings are in the collections of the United States Supreme Court, the University of Chicago, Stanford Law School, Readers Digest, the Museum of the City of New York and other prominent institutions.
He began his art training at the Art Students Academy in Tulsa and finished at the Art Students League in New York. His portrait work is currently represented by Portraits, Inc., NY and Portraits South, NC.
