  Artistically Engaged: Works by Gage Academy Instructors and Alumni

A vibrant cross-section of art and artists, featuring realist, abstract, landscape, still life and portrait drawings, paintings and sculpture. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

A 3-day event to raise money for longtime NW artist Bill McEnroe, who recently began chemotherapy for lymphoma.
 
  Landscape en Plein Air
The Gage landscape-painting group has teamed up with the Eastside Association of Fine Arts for plein-air painting outings. The group meets at 10:00am on Tuesdays in different locations around King County (view their schedule online). For more information, please call Jim Adkins at 206.634.0570.
 
  Award of Excellence
Congratulatons to Gage instructor Boris Spivak. His sculpture Spirit of Exile received the Award of Excellence from the American Juried Art Salon in its recent national biannual exhibition.
 
    Edmonds Sculpting/Drawing Group
Figure sculpting and drawing from life in Edmonds: Open-studio sessions with live models (No formal instruction provided). Join others who share your love of art in a safe, supportive and quiet atmosphere. Same long pose 3 Wednesday evenings each month, 7:00pm-10:00pm. Fee: $5 workshop fee, plus your share of model’s fee. Sculptors may store current clay pieces on site; firing available for extra charge. E-mail David Varnau for more information.

  2006 Northwest Biennial
The Tacoma Art Museum's Eighth Northwest Biennial provides a strong critical analysis of the region’s contemporary art production. Artists working in a broad spectrum of media including traditional forms, craft-based work, and digital projects are encouraged to apply. Artists exploring alternative aesthetic impulses such as conceptual, performance, and installation also are encouraged to submit portfolios. Additional information can be found on the Tacoma Art Museum's web site.
 
  Pacific Northwest Plein-Air 2006 Competition
Pacific Northwest artists paint the scenic and diverse landscape of the Columbia River Gorge en plein air in late summer. Deadline for registration for this event is August 15, 2006. For information, registration and prospectus, please contact:
