Fall Classes Begin Sept. 14: Register Online Today! It's not too late to register for fall programs at Gage, and now you can do so online! Gage now offers 24-hour, secure online registration using your credit card. If you wish to take advantage of any discounts or are a scholarship or an atelier student, you must call the Gage registrar at 206.323.4243 to enroll in programs. NOTE: There is a mistake in the current catalog. The Wednesday Artist’s Choice sessions are listed in the morning. However, they will actually be held from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Don't Miss the Drawing Jam at Bumbershoot! Saturday, September 5 - Monday, September 7 In a matter of just a few days, Gage Academy of Art returns to Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival! Gage recreates its flagship event, the Drawing Jam, at Bumbershoot, bringing free art supplies, live models, live music, giveaways, an exhibition and photo archiving all to the Seattle Center this Labor Day weekend. Come to the Drawing Jam for FREE on Friday, September 4, from noon to 7:00pm. |

September Teen Art Studios: Manga! with Jake Myler Fridays, 6:30pm - 9:30pm/Ages 13 - 18/FREE All materials provided. All levels welcome. Create manga, a comic with Japanese story-telling influences. Build technique using the most common tools used by mangaka (Japanese for comic creator). Create a finished comic page and show off your new comic style. Steele Gallery Refracting Space September 14 – October 10 Artists’ Reception: Friday, Sept. 25, 6:00pm-8:00pm, FREE Gallery Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:30am-4:30pm This group exhibition features painters and printmakers who simultaneously use abstraction and representation to render their subjects and landscapes. These artists create compelling depths of space by merging their foreground and background and through the continual process of mark-making. Eric Elliott Shows at James Harris Gallery September 3 - October 3 James Harris Gallery, 312 2nd Ave. S, Seattle Artists' Reception: Thursday, Sept. 3, 6:00pm-8:00pm James Harris Gallery hosts the second solo exhibition of paintings by artist and Gage instructor Eric Elliott. Elliott’s paintings, reflecting traditional subjects such as the still life and the artist’s studio, earned him the 2009 Neddy Artist Fellowship in painting.
