  The Gage DRAWING JAM
is Right Around the Corner!

Saturday, December 5, 10:00am-10:00pm
Tickets at the door:
Adults: $10; Students with ID: $5; Kids & Teens: FREE

Try your hand at art during the 10th Annual Drawing Jam, a 12-hour art-making marathon. Gage provides all the essentials for a full day of art creation: three floors of studios, art supplies, food, models, inspiration and entertainment are all included with admission.

Perspective with Ryan Finnerty

Fridays, 6:30-9:30pm/Ages 13-18/FREE
All materials provided. All levels welcome.

Learn the tools and techniques used by storyboarders, film-makers, architects and artists to create exciting images using and manipulating perspective. Try new points of view as you explore both technical tricks and dramatic effects while working in a variety of media from diverse sources. Please note: there is no TAS December 26.

  Gage 20th Anniversary Retrospective

Friends old and new are invited to contribute Gage photos, keepsakes, notes and memorabilia collected through the years for inclusion in the upcoming January/February retrospective exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of Gage Academy of Art. Landscape Painting: The Book

The exhibition features paintings by artists whose work appears in Mitchell Albala's new book, Landscape Painting: Essential Concepts and Techniques for Plein Air and Studio Practice. Participating artists include Rebecca Allan, Marc Bohne, Jim Lamb, Kurt Solmssen, Michael Stasinos and Barbara Fugate.

The 11th Annual Small Artworks Invitational features the work of 30 artists, including Gage alumna Claudia Pettis, with artwork smaller than 12". Pettis shows 12 works, including her eight-canvas series 30 Sheep to One.

Gage alumnae Melinda Hannigan and Robin Siegl show recent work in the group exhibition Purposeful Surfaces, illustrating the beauty found in wear and tear, rust, journey, maintenance and survival on the Seattle waterfront.

  Chateau Rollat Wine Features Lanie Franza's Art

Congratulations to Gage alumna Lanie Franza, who's art now appears on the labels of two wines from Chateau Rollat Winery in Walla Walla. Her painting Power and Elegance 29 appears on the Artist Series semillon and her piece Spencer on the Artist Series rose.

We still need you to help make this event a success. Each volunteer receives free admission, a 2009 Drawing Jam T-shirt and refreshment coupons.
