Students, family, friends and art aficionados will descend on Gage Academy of Art Friday, June 20 for this lively event. From 6:00pm to 9:00pm, the school will rock with energy and artistry as hundreds enjoy this night of celebration!
Artwork from dozens of current Gage students will line the halls of all three bustling floors of the school, as the Best of Gage Awards Event kicks off this special exhibition, running June 15 through July 14. Each year hundreds of students take classes at Gage, and this event is a way to feature the wide-ranging talents of our students.
Our very special guest Billy Howard of Howard House Gallery will judge the competition, picking the First, Second and Third Place Winners in seven categories as well as the Grand Prize for BEST IN SHOW!
The seven categories are:
Beginner
Portrait
Figure
Still Life
Landscape
Abstract
Sculpture
New! This year marks a brand new award: the People's Choice Award! That's right: come to the event and vote for your favorite piece to win.
In addition to the great exhibition and awards ceremony, there will be tasty snacks and delicious libations on each level of the school. Also featured on each level are artists' demonstrations by talented Gage instructors and students.
The Best of Gage is a wonderful way to welcome friends and family into the school, and we welcome new and familar faces alike for the festive event!
The night's lineup:
6:00pm to 7:30pm: Reception and People's Choice Voting
7:30pm: Best of Gage Awards Ceremony
Followed by the continuing reception until 9:00pm.
