Foundation Figure Drawing I

Aron Hart is an award-winning artist and art instructor, living in the Seattle area.  He specializes in oil paintings and drawings.  Dedicated to learning, Aron has continued to develop his skills over the years, studying locally and abroad, and most recently completing three years in the Drawing and Painting Atelier program at Gage Academy of Art.

  • Blending Stumps (not the spiral wound ones)
  • Coates Willow Charcoal (Med. Sticks 5-6 mm)
  • Conte Crayon Sticks (Sanguine, black & white)
  • Conte Crayon Pencil (Sanguine)
  • ChamoisSmall Snap knife from hardware store
  • Sandpaper (one piece of 150 sandpaper is all you’ll need)
  • 2 bull dog clips
  • Wooden skewer (for sighting and measuring)
  • Plumb line (made from a weight suspended from string)
 
Working with a variety of drawing media, you will build a foundation of skills and methods for creating accurate, emotive renderings of the human figure. You will learn concrete techniques for conveying form, contour, structure, and volume. Anatomy and study of proportions are addressed throughout class. First in a series, which continues with Foundation Figure Drawing II (Winter) and Foundation Figure Drawing III (Spring).
