The poster study is an elementary exercise through which we train ourselves to perceive the shining of light in the pictorial space, and to construct our paintings tonally so that they shine and glow in a similar way. In doing the poster study students develop a practical context in which to learn about the mixing of color. Led by Tony Ryder renowned instructor with over thirty years experience teaching drawing and oil painting from life at the Art Student’s League of New York and the New York Academy, this workshop is an introduction to thinking, seeing and painting in the color of the light.
