Beginning Observational Drawing at Gage Georgetown

Jonathan Happ is representational painter born and raised in northwestern Illinois. He attended Iowa State University to study painting and philosophy, earning a BFA in 2010 and in 2014 earned an MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Washington in Seattle. Jonathan has been selected as an artist in residence in the US and internationally in Singapore.
Jonathan has designed and instructed painting and drawing courses around the state of Washington, receiving the Parnassus Teaching with Excellence award as well as a Meritorious Visiting Faculty award from the University of Washington. He exhibits nationally and internationally and currently resides in Seattle, Washington.

Learn how to handle charcoal, pencil, and pen while working with composition, value, and form. With new perspective, you will discover that you already have insight into how to draw, and consequently, you will begin to draw with confidence. A little art history and a lot of fun included!
