Gage Academy of Art is seeking a creative, passionate, and organized copywriter/intern who will be responsible for assisting in content strategy, writing, editing, proofreading and execution of email templates utilizing Mail Chimp email marketing. The ideal candidate will have an interest in art and strong writing skills, formerly/currently enrolled in college with classes in marketing, communications, or related field. This internship will let you build upon the skills you have learned in the classroom through real-world hands-on work experience as part of our marketing department.

Hours may vary per week based on workflow. Upon successful completion of your internship, we are happy to provide letters of reference and recommendation, and/or complete any paperwork that your college may require. Candidate must be willing to work from own laptop/computer, and be comfortable with some work from our offices and some work done remotely. Must be at least 18 years of age.


  • MUST currently reside and live in Seattle or nearby suburbs
  • MUST be willing to work unpaid (stipend only) for minimum of 6 months


The Gage copywriter/intern will be involved in creating content for a variety of email campaigns, media releases, and web content. This position will work with the Director of Marketing and play a role in developing increased customer engagement focused on growing student enrollment, building community, increasing event participation, and connecting with donors and supporters.

Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable writing for a variety of platforms to meet the goals and objectives of marketing strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Out-of-the-box thinker with a knack for creative marketing ideas and concepts
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written, oral, interpersonal) skills
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Good proofreading skills and an eye for detail.

Hours may vary from week-to-week, with some flexibility to work from home or in our offices.
