Kyle Abernethy is a Seattle based artist working primarily in oil. He studied at Gage Academy including time in the Mark Kang-O’Higgins Atelier. Kyle teaches classes at Gage and out of his studio in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. Kyle believes in teaching practical drawing and painting techniques, focusing on objective observation. He is co-owner of Krab Jab Gallery and Mainframe frame shop, both in Georgetown. Kyle’s work is representational and he is currently focusing on illustration and imaginative realism.
Sarah Bixler received a Drawing and Painting BFA from the University of Washington in 2011. She teaches drawing and painting classes at Winslow Art Center on Bainbridge Island and at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. She enjoys early mornings and simplifying everyday objects into geometric shapes.
Learn the foundation of drawing using various drawing media. We will work from still-life objects and live models, and will be inspired by field trips to parks and museum exhibitions. By the end of this Drawing Intensive you will have developed more accurate drawing skills.
