Explorations in Figure Drawing
Gage Capitol Hill, Room 200
Sarah Bixler received a Drawing and Painting BFA from the University of Washington in 2011. She teaches drawing and painting classes at Winslow Art Center on Bainbridge Island and at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. She enjoys early mornings and simplifying everyday objects into geometric shapes.
Focus on the basics of drawing the nude figure. Students will learn a flexible, anatomically rooted approach to working from the model. Each week we will begin with short warm up gestures then move on to studying specific parts of the figure in isolation, learning how to break forms down into constructive building blocks, and how to recognize the underlying anatomy.
