Step 1 of 5

As a prospective student for the Gage Academy Atelier programs, here is some information on these intensive and rewarding programs and how to apply.

Prospective students are encouraged to visit Gage prior to applying to the programs so that they are able to meet with the instructor and tour the space; contact the School Manager to set up a visit.

All Atelier students are required to attend on a full-time basis (Monday-Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm) during a nine month period from September through June (see Atelier page on the Gage website for exact dates each year).

The Atelier programs will be structured with one half of the day working in your studio on a variety of individual projects, and the other half of the day working from the model. The instructor will attend your figure class for two days each week, teaching to the whole group and working with you individually. In the shared on site studios, you will work independently most of the time, with the instructor working with you individually for critiques and mentoring. These programs require students with personal discipline and ambition to be able to work on their own for at least 50% of the time.

Please be aware that each student will be reviewed by a panel at the end of each academic year in order to keep their place in the Atelier for the next year.

If you wish to apply to an Atelier, please return your application by the last business day in May to be considered for the fall in the upcoming academic year. The application process for the atelier is competitive. Please note that enrollment in the ateliers is limited, due to the size of the programs.

Thank you for your interest in the Gage Atelier programs.
