Explore new and lesser known drawing materials and methods to create unique illusions of the figure. You will venture outside of the “figure drawing box” by exploring alternative mediums to render the human figure. Classical ideas of rendering form will be stressed throughout but realized with unique techniques and supplies. Working from the model each day will focus on a different combination of new drawing mediums such as ballpoint pen, acrylic, shellac and sandpaper on prepared surfaces of paper and wood. Approach this with an open mind and get outside your comfort zone so that you leave this workshop on a path to broadening your skill set and open doors to new ways of creating an image.
