Intermediate Figure Drawing

Aron Hart is an award-winning artist and art instructor, living in the Seattle area.  He specializes in oil paintings and drawings.  Dedicated to learning, Aron has continued to develop his skills over the years, studying locally and abroad, and most recently completing three years in the Drawing and Painting Atelier program at Gage Academy of Art.

  • Drawing board 18”x 24″
  • Rough Newsprint 18”x 24” (to pad your drawing paper, and gestures)
  • Strathmore 500 series white charcoal paper 18”x 24″
  • Daler-Rowney Canford Gun Metal Grey paper 20”x 30” (1 or 2 sheets)

Drawing Materials:

  • Kneaded eraser
  • White pencil eraser
  • General’s Charcoal pencils (several HB’s one 2B)
  • General’s White Charcoal pencil
  • Blending Stumps (not the spiral wound ones)
  • Willow Charcoal (Med. Sticks 5-6 mm)
  • Chamois
  • Small Snap knife from hardware store
  • Sandpaper (one piece of 150 sandpaper is all you’ll need)
  • 2 bull dog clips
  • Wooden skewer (for sighting and measuring)
Gain technical mastery and intuitive understanding of depicting the human form. Working from quick gesture drawings to longer, more considered poses, you will learn proportion and anatomy; use light and shade to depict volume; and line and tone to describe planar changes in the body.
