Summer Florence Art Tour with Mike Magrath

Mike Magrath will be bringing a group of students to Florence this summer! I was there this past summer and can attest that Florence is both a wonderful city and a fantastic setting to learn about art and art history. Students will have shared apartments for 16 nights and will have 11 days of instruction which will include- museum visits with a focus on sculpture, drawing sculpture on site, figure drawing from the model in the classroom and all of Mike’s knowledge on both art history and the city of Florence where he lived for a time while at the Florence Academy.

Every day the class will be visiting various museums and historic sites and this workshop is open to anyone who is interested.

Join Gage Co-Founder Gary Faigin as we witness what may be the final project of internationally renowned artist, Christo, as he and his team wrap Paris’s Arc de Triomphe in shiny silver-blue fabric and bright red rope, transforming one of the city’s most famous monuments into something jewel-like and transcendent. This monumental artistic intervention will only be in place for 2 weeks and you can be there!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, from the top-of-the-line hotels and food, the local escort and no-worry transportation by Art Horizons, and an itinerary that includes stops at the top collections in Paris and many newly renovated museums.
