Gage Academy of Art, 1501 10th Ave E, Seattle
Admission: $10 for adults/FREE for teens & kids

Sketch, doodle, squiggle or jot - Drawing Jam 2012 returns to Gage Academy of Art! Make plans now to bring the whole family to the 13th annual community celebration of music, art, cuisine and creativity, happening Saturday, December 1 from 9:00am to 9:00pm at the Gage building on Capitol Hill, 1501 10th AVE E, next to St. Mark’s Cathedral.

This year, the event is bigger than ever before! In addition to taking over the entire third floor of the building, the festivities will extend to the Skinner Auditorium, a 3,500 sq. ft. facility which will feature a rotating cast of live models, perched courageously on scaffolding erected on the main floor.

ALL ART SUPPLIES ARE FREE!

A wide variety of drawing materials will be provided at no cost, and each studio will be filled with easels waiting for artists. Drawing Jam features a cast of over 50 models throughout the building – including dancers, musicians and costumed performers serving as gesture models, and nude figure models available for traditional sessions. Costumed models include the “Stars of Seattle” - a group of local celebrities, which in the past have included performers from Teatro ZinZanni, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the SeaFair Pirates.

BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY!

Named a “must do event” by Seattle Magazine, this family-friendly event provides both kids and teens with their own dedicated spaces to draw, paint, and create, as well as the opportunity to participate in activities throughout the building. Plus, local artists and Gage instructors demonstrate drawing, painting and sculpting techniques throughout the day; and studios will be available for open use, including a print studio sponsored by Artist & Craftsman Supply.

Spend an hour – or the entire day – but don’t miss the opportunity to experience one of the most unique art events in the Northwest! Buy your tickets at the door: $10 for adults, $5 for college students with ID, and free for kids and teens. Free parking provided.
