Educating and Artmaking


August 6 – September 10

Artists’ Reception: Friday, August 6, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Gage collaborates with Seattle School Districts to create this exhibition celebrating local educators of the arts. View the artwork of teaching artists who continue to develop their own studio practice in addition to helping students find their artistic voice. Don’t miss the accompanying lecture by guest teaching artist Jordan Sokol during the artists’ reception.

Gala Bent*, Chauney Peck and Matt Sellars expand their artistic vocabularies as they combine drawing, collage, sculpture and installation, blurring the line between two- and three-dimensional objects.

Gage Teen Intensive Show at SAM


September 9 - October 9

Corridor Gallery at SAM, 1300 First Ave., Seattle

Thirteen artists from the 2010 Teen Intensive program at Gage present their final projects. During the five-week, all-day program, professional artists Tenaya Sims and Kimberly Trowbridge helped these serious teen artists build a strong portfolio in graphite, charcoal and oils.
