The Advanced Seminar: Mentored Studies With Kimberly Trowbridge

The Advanced Seminar is open to students who’ve completed 1 – 2 years of the Trowbridge Atelier, or other advanced students upon review. Space is limited to eight students. The Seminar is designed for advanced Atelier students who wish to remain engaged in a critical discourse within a community of artist-peers. Sessions will include slide lectures of historical and contemporary artists, rotating peer-critiques, Visiting Artist lectures, assigned readings, and writing assignments aimed at professional development. Participants will greatly expand their ability to speak, write, and think about art. Preference given to past Trowbridge Atelier graduates, all others admitted upon portfolio review.

Kimberly Trowbridge is a two-time Neddy Award Finalist (2014, 2016), and an Artist Trust GAP Grant recipient (2014). She received an MFA from University of Washington, 2006. She is a plein-air painter, figure painter, installation artist, performer and instructor of the Trowbridge Atelier. She leads plein-air painting tours in Portugal, and Twisp, WA. Trowbridge is passionate about perceiving color relationships in nature and approaches the painting process as a means for self-discovery.
