This four-week class which runs 6/11-7/2 (with make up day on 7/1), will take students on a journey to produce an original work of abstract art.

Class 1: Students create a collage from found materials

Class 2: Students abstract digital images of the finished collage employing compositional elements learned in class.

Class 3: Students use acrylics or oils and with brushwork create an archival work of art by translating this digital image to a physical canvas then continuing with digital explorations to inform the physical painting. This session includes instruction on using acrylic and oil layering techniques as well as how to use oil paints in a fume free way.

Class 4: Students begin abstract interpretations from original photos.
