Gage is proud to partner with Sanctuary Arts Center, whose mission is to provide a safe, warm and calm environment for homeless and at-risk youth. This spring and summer Gage brought artist Lauren Lida to teach cut-paper workshops at Sanctuary Art Center. We are proud to display artworks from those workshops at the CDMP Gallery this fall. Please join us for the opening reception on the first Thursday, October 6th, 2016. The exhibit is free and open to the public during gallery hours from September to October.
The Sanctuary Art Center’s mission is to provide a safe, warm, and calm environment for homeless and at-risk youth, ages 13-25, to experience creativity and success through the use of various artistic media. Within these programs, areas of instruction include but are not limited to: painting, drawing, ceramics, stained glass, sewing, theater arts, music, and employment internship. Through these various forms of media, our goal is to engage youth in a creative process and connect them to the community in which they live.
