Join us for 2018 Drawing Jam
Saturday, December 1, 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.

What is Drawing Jam?

Drawing Jam is one of Gage Academy of Art’s biggest community events of the year; a high-energy gathering of artists and art lovers that takes place at our Gage Capitol Hill campus. In an effort to create an intersectional space for local artists, arts organizations, artisans, musicians, performers, food vendors and the general public, Gage activates it’s entire campus with creative workshops, live models for painting and sculpting, artist demos and live entertainment.

Drawn Together

The 2018 Drawing Jam theme, “Drawn Together,” aims to embody that goal by bringing together local residents through a love for making art. It’s the perfect time to experience our creative community for yourself regardless your art skills and experience – take a brush, a pencil, or dig your hands into clay and show your creativity and artistic voice. It’s human nature to express yourself!

What to Expect: Throughout the day, you can engage with costumed models, drag artists, and performers – fun for artists of every age. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to observe and learn techniques and secrets from Gage teaching artists demos. This year, Gary Faigin, Geoff Flack, Terry Furchgott, and Dominique Medici will paint and draw in front of easels.

Interested in sculpting? Meg Murch, Elijah Evanson, and Mike Magrath will show their clay mastery in our sculpting studios.

Don’t feel like you have enough experience to create back to back with the masters? Don’t skip the event. Try things out for yourself in clay studios or papermaking under the guidance of our volunteers, or enjoy live music from local bands: Gregory Rawlins, Lonely Mountain Lovers, Boots to the Moon and others. And of course, our performers always make this event a blast: Betty Wetter, Cookie Couture.

Drawing Jam includes art supplies, access to art instructors, drawing demonstrations, DJ’s, live bands, solo performers and more. If you get hungry, there will be plenty of food, including Off the Rez food truck, breakfast bites and coffee.
With the holidays right around the corner, you’ll love the creative selection of gift ideas at our Holiday Bazaar and Gage’s students artwork at Small Works Sale (price from $20 to $250.).

Northwest Harvest Food Drive: If you plan to attend Drawing Jam, you can help us to help local families in need by bringing along a nonperishable food item or a monetary donation.

Tickets: $15 at the door. FREE for kids 15 & under.
